Lake Oswego Sleeper

Lake Oswego Sleeper turned Stunner!

This property was a 3 bedroom/2 bath ranch style home in Lake Oswego that had been nicely updated: bamboo floors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances – all the amenities that buyers usually want.  But it had been on the market for a grand total of 825 days before we staged it!  Unsurprisingly there had been numerous price reductions and a few changes of brokerage.

Finally,  a very astute broker, Kathleen McElderry of RE/MAX Equity Group in Lake Oswego had us stage it.  I felt that the most likely buyer would be a young single person or young couple so targeted that audience with the staging. Sure enough, in just 46 days after we staged it, an offer was accepted!  And yes, the buyer was a young single woman~

One can only wonder how much money the sellers would have saved in price reductions and carrying costs if we had staged it much sooner…

  1. LIVING and DINING ROOM AFTERThe staging captured a youthful energy with a nod to the mid-century origins of the house. We picked up on the brick fireplace which is barely visible to warm up the space.
  2. LIVING ROOM BEFOREWhile a nice large space, there was nothing to compel buyers to act.
  3. LIVING ROOM AFTERNow they have one possible answer for how to use the space.
  4. SITTING AREA OFF KITCHEN BEFOREAnother ambiguous space was just to the left of the front door. It\'s not needed to be dining space as the dining area is off the kitchen on the right.
  5. SITTING AREA OFF KITCHEN AFTERSo we created a comfy seating area for conversation or maybe watching tv next to the kitchen. We even threw in a loveseat which you can barely see but it was cozy and warm.
