Laurelhurst Bungalow

Laurelhurst Bungalow Quick Sale
We had the privilege of staging a vintage bungalow in the Laurelhurst neighborhood of Portland in the spring of 2011. The sellers had a young, busy family including an infant and were moving out of the area.  They decided to move before putting the property on the market and their broker referred them to us.
We discussed the priorities in spending their dollars wisely and advised them to update the kitchen rather than redo the exterior paint as another stager had recommended. This solution was far more cost effective and a more important improvement to buyers. Additionally, paint, hardware and staging to the “Nines” was accomplished.
We must have been right because the sellers’ accepted an offer only 12 hours after listing! Their testimonial can be seen here.

  1. LIVING ROOM BEFORECraftsman Living Room was comfortable for family use.
  2. LIVING ROOM AFTERPortland craftsman living room staged with updated style.
  3. LIVING ROOM BEFOREFront of Living Room was used primarily as a play area for the sellers\' young children - and it was large enough to be a great one! But you can\'t get top dollar for it unless it looks gracious.
  4. LIVING ROOM AFTERNow exudes a relaxing vibe and makes buyers want to linger...
  5. DINING ROOM BEFOREThe room before transformation was not equal to the architecture. The paint color is now dated as well as the light fixture.
  6. DINING ROOM AFTERUpdated paint color and lighting provide a softer canvas for staging with dramatic furnishings.
  7. DEN BEFOREMain level bedroom looked small with queen sized bed in it.
  8. DEN AFTERSo we brought in a stylish day bed and desk to provide a multi-functional space.
  9. KITCHEN BEFOREWas dark and dated - the wallpaper had to go as well as something had to be done about the oak cabinets and old appliances...
  10. KITCHEN AFTERSo we suggested updating the cabinets by adding cool hardware. A coat of neutral paint took care of the oppressive wall paper. Then, stainless steel appliances and our staging provided a clean, fresh kitchen!
  11. KIDS ROOM BEFORESeller wanted to show that this small room without a closet could be used as a child\'s room.
  12. KID\'S ROOM AFTERSo we came up with a cute concept and brought in a twin sized bed and made it a fun little tree house...
  13. CHILD\'S ROOM BEFOREThis is the other side of the room - fairly small and would have looked useless if left empty.
  14. CHILD\'S ROOM AFTERBut we had some fun with it - and suspect some children did too!
  15. MASTER BEDROOM BEFOREVery ordinary Master Bedroom but wouldn\'t excite a buyer\'s imagination.
  16. MASTER BEDROOM AFTERSo we carried the bird theme into a more sophisticated direction..
  17. MASTER BEDROOM AFTERAnd made it a relaxing, luxurious retreat...
