An Example of Supplemental Staging
This home is a fabulous Craftsman property in the Belmont section of Portland.  It was occupied by a family with 2 darling girls and their doggie.  It was well lived in, but didn’t have the style necessary to convey the magic of the architecture to buyers.  An additional problem, was the multitude of paint colors throughout which made the rooms feel disconnected.  We advised painting in a soft neutral tone to showcase the interior details such as the incredible leaded glass windows.  Then we removed some of the furniture, moved other pieces and finally brought in our own furniture and accessories to make the property sing.  It sang to everyone and received multiple offers.  Please see the dramatic transformation in our Before and After photos below…
  1. Exterior of CraftsmanThis is a grand old Craftsman home in the Belmont section of Portland. It has loads of charm and spectacular interior features - very fun to stage!
  2. BEFORE: Foyer & View from front door When entering the house, buyers encountered at least 10 paint colors which made the spaces feel disconnected. Also the rooms needed style in keeping with the amazing craftsman architecture.
  3. AFTER: Foyer into nook & Living RoomNew cohesive paint and our staging creates a unified environment and gracious ambience.
  4. BEFORE: Living RoomThe living room was too casual to do justice to the glorious leaded glass windows and other architectural details. There was even a child\'s trampoline in the corner... This is fine when you are living in a home, but you are doing yourself an injustice if you try to market it that way.
  5. AFTER: Living RoomNow the formal living room is a genteel environment befitting this grand home. It gives buyers the sense that the owners lead a lifestyle to be emulated - a key factor in successful staging!
  6. BEFORE: Living Room FireplaceFireplace Before was cluttered and lacked importance.
  7. AFTER: FireplaceNow the fireplace is dramatic and updated!
  8. BEFORE: Dining RoomThere were just too many strong colors going on in this house which made it feel choppy.
  9. AFTER: Dining RoomWe recommended a soft paint that coordinated nicely with the existing colors and put the architectural details and windows back in the spotlight. The room now looks more current than it did before.
  10. BEFORE: Family RoomAnd yet another strong paint color... And the furniture just didn\'t do justice to those windows! Especially as this room is just inside the front door and one of the first views buyers would see.
  11. AFTER: Family RoomSo we suggested a softer paint color again and moved the leather furniture from the living room to the family room which should be casual. Now it is inviting and buyers have a casual hang-out room as well as a formal room.
  12. BEFORE: Master BedroomThis room needed some love! We had already suggested the owner buy new bedding so that is what you see here, but it still needed more luxury for such a grand home.
  13. AFTER: Master BedroomWe added some rich silk window coverings and dramatic artwork and accessories to create a sanctuary where buyers would want to retreat from the world. We also moved the bed a bit further from the windows to create a more spacious feeling.
